Day 39 - Nice - Monaco - Montauroux - 30th June 2024

Slept very well.

Packed up as we needed to be out of the villa by 10.00 am. Everything was back in the van quickly. I seem to have a large quantity of beer and wine!

When the housekeeper (Sofie) arrrived we gave her the keys and headed to Monaco.

In Monaco we drove along the front and part of the F1 circuit - you can see the markings on the road!

Then a lovely drive along the coast (Cote d'Azur) back to Nice.

Parked in the port car park. Massive undeground car park and found a nice place overlooking the port/marina to eat.

Quite warm.

Had a very nice steak and chips - I sat the shady side :)

Then onto the archaelogical museum of Nice which was very interesting (but also very warm outside).

Lots to do and play with. Had a very interesting exhibition on the history of Fire.

Then back into Nice for a nice ice-cream. Back to the same car park as I can get the van in it!

Drove along the Promenade Anglais and past the airport to the CAP 3000 shopping centre.

The family then went to the airport (boo) and I headed in the Antibes direction.

Eventually as it was getting dark I got of the motorway and found a campsite. 31 Euros for a night. Not a good campsite. I might have stayed 2 nights but the toilet block was being renovated, lights didnt work etc.

I arrived just as England scored!

Cold shower it's still incredibly warm this close to the coast. In bed by 10.30 pm. 

Knackered!
