Weather was a bit better so decided to head towards Leipzig and see how far I get. The cycle path around the lake is better than most of the roads in Cornwall! The route is also well signposted. I set off on the eBike with a full charge and too many clothes on.
After cycling round the lake came to a town and promptly got lost. Eventually back on the path towards Leipzig- after 20 miles I realised I was only half way there. Loads of charge in the battery as I’d been cycling in either ECO or off mode. I continued through roads designated to cyclists and came to a what looks like storm safety system with a proper cycle path for miles into Leipzig!
I just followed this and came out by the Leipzig Red Bull Stadium. Couldn’t get too close as there must have been an event on. Leipzig is very pleasant- wandered around for an hour or so but realised I was running out of phone charge. Now it’s not the end of the world but my eBike will lock if it can’t connect to the phone… and I didn’t fancy cycling it 40 miles without any power. I looked up the quickest off road route back and it took me back up the same route I’d been but took me further along it - maybe 15 miles.
But managed to get back after wandering round numerous lakes. Picked up beer and Pasta/Caesars salad from Netto. Don’t buy the tinned beer it leaks when thrown about in the panniers. Back to the campsite with 3% power left. But cycled nearly 90 miles. Lovely warm shower included in the 14 euros. Then so tired to bed.
My next van! They stored there eBikes on the bottom layer.
