Woke up @ 6.30 am.
Packed up tent and was on the road by 7.30 am.
That was an expensive stop and I wouldn't stay there again - but needs must. Interesting note in the WC below.
Soon as I left the campsite I should pick-up the network - eh no...
Top Tip: Bring spare phone with Sim or eSim on different network.
So I knew it was Bari/Naples/Rome?bolsena I just headed in that direction.
Once I was on the motorway I stopped in the first service station which had free WiFi and downloaded the offline Google maps so where to go was fine. Had a bun and a coffee.
Just hope I dont break down as the phone(s) - (I had uncovered the other one from my secret hidely hole) are both on the same network - Sky - schoolboy error.
As I went past Naples the phone service kicked in. Yeh!
Then to Bolsena as it's where Andy and Amanda Boon will ne tomorrow. Flash flood as I got off the motorway - first rain I'd seen in weeks. Then little roads to Bolsena - though the roads were quiet.
Must remember to backup the dashcam so I can show some Italian driving. They are by far the worst drivers I've met in my 5 weeks away (13 countries) across Europe. I'm surprised they don't have more accidents!
The campsite is just wow! 37 Euros, 1 Euro tourist tax. 18 Euros a night for a shady pitch, by the lake, quiet, hot clean showers, pool, WLan, electric, restaurant, shop...
Table-tennis table....
Raymond and Bridgitte the lovely Belgium couple next door have been coming here for 40 years.
Put the tent up in a comparatively cool 25C and then opened the side door of the van - which fell off it's runner! The coolbox had fallen of the shelf and pushed the door out!
Had to take the shelving out from inside then push the door out. Then I got it stuck as I didn't put it back on the right runner... eventually it all went back together fine.
Quick cycle around Bolsena. Very nice town. Lots to see and places to eat. Easy route along the edge of the lake into Bolsena.
Back for the football. England vs Slovenia which was a bore fest. Couple of beers and a 25cl of wine (pulled from a hand pump).
Great spot under the trees
Lovely campsite.
Then bed in the reasonably cool of Italy
