Another sunny day.
Woke up about 7.30 am. as the temperature suddenly rose. Had some coffee using the electric heating plate and then tidied the van a bit following the excitement of the last few days!
Also had to move the clothes from the front passenger well to the back in to the space I had to sleep in.
Van looking tidy but incredibly dusty. A couple of days in Greece and it looks like 6 months in the UK!
I wasnt planning on cycling today but the weather was so good I thought I'd pop my swimming trunks on and a pair of shorts on top and go to a local beach.
Set off about 11.00 am.
Saw some wild horses and a lovely little foal. But nowhere I really fancied to swim.
Saw a signpost to Katerini which is where we stayed with Kostas and family back in the late 80's. When I approached Katerini a big sign for Olympic Beach appeared. So I headed to the beach.
Gorgeous white sand with a cycle path (2-way) by the side.
I found a spot where it wasn't 100 metres of sand to the sea and parked the bike and went for that much promised dip!
The sand was so hot I had to run into the sea!
I had brought a towel but didn't really need one as it was so hot I dryed on a rock!
Then into the nearby touristy village of Paralia. I'm sure this is where we came with Kostas.
Found a nice Taverna and a Mythos (large cold one) instantly appeared. Do I look like a man who needs a Mythos?
Had another great Greek salad and Chicken Souvalaki. 19 Euros in total. Very nice.
Then I ambled back to camp. Used far more Turbo than I would normally as it was so hot!
Lovely flowers on the way back to the campsite.
Back at the campsite I relaxed and tidied away a few bits. This is the size of doggo wandering around...
Tomorrow I take down and pack away the tent as I wont need it for the next 12 nights.
Spoke to Catherines Mum on the phone as Catherine and Eleanor had popped up to see her before they join me tomorrow.
Then a few more Hungarian beers and a Pot Noodle - Chicken and Mushroom (it was actually surprisingly nice!) and then bed.
It's hot I'm sleeping here!
